I saw Barak Obama speak at Bicentennial Park in Downtown Miami yesterday.  On the train ride out to the rally, I met three Obama volunteers in thier 50’s who were also heading out to see him speak.  One of them compared going to an Obama rally to a rock concert and she looked about as excited as she probably did at 18 on her way to see Kiss.  In general, people were pretty charged to see Obama speak.  There were mini-explosions of screams and cheers every time someone thought they saw him in the crowd, people sang and chanted, denounced right wing slander tactics and bought lots of Obama merchandise.

The most impresive thing about the event wasn’t his oritory style or any part of the presentation, although it was all very slick, patriotic looking and well presented. The most impresive thing about the ralley was the faith these multitudes had in this one politician.  Moses lead your people to the promise land becasue they “want pie”.  Link
